Most of my contemporaries would probably remember "The Little Match Girl" written by Hans Christian Andersen: It was terribly cold and nearly dark on the last evening of the old year, and the snow was falling fast. Ruth is my favorite O.T. woman. I loved my mother-in-law who was instrumental in several important events in my life. First, she suggested my then boyfriend propose to me (a non-Catholic) and worked out a way that we could marry before he went off to the service. She was such a good example of a Catholic married to a non-Catholic that she inspired me to convert to the Catholic faith more than all the logical arguments my engineer husband could make.
