To Have and To Hold

I'm about to get married in a few months.  I still can't believe it... seemed only yesterday when I met my first boyfriend and now he will be my husband.   The past years had been the best 3 years of my life.  Of course we had our shares of ups and downs - almost "break-ups", and doubts.  But all these are incomparable to our firm decision to grow old together.

Our Wedding Invite...

Actually, right now, I am trying to draft my wedding vows... but i can't seem to find the right words to express exactly what i feel.  It's as if no words can ever capture the beauty of the relationship i share with my "soon-to-be-husband" and the blessing of committing to a lifetime of life and love.

I love writing... and normally, words just come out naturally for me.  But at this very moment... nothing!  I can't seem to capture anything into words.

If only i could just pick up lines from my favorite romantic movies or novels... but on second thought, i want mine to be a totally uniques story and no matter what happens, I will be my very own script-writer.

Remembering a few of the well-written romantic lines from some of my favorite TV shows and "feel-good" movies:
FRIENDS:

Monica: Chandler, for so long I wondered if I would ever find my prince, my soul mate. Then three years ago, at another wedding I turned to a friend for comfort. And instead, I found everything that I’d ever been looking for my whole life. And now, here we are, with our future before us – and I only want to spend it with you, my prince, my soul mate, my friend. Unless you don’t want to. You go!

Matthew Perry (Chandler) and Courtney Cox (Monica) from the TV series "Friends"

Chandler: Monica, I thought this was going to be the most difficult thing I ever had to do. But when I saw you walking down that aisle I realized how simple it was. I love you. Any surprises that come our way, it’s okay, because I will always love you. You are the person I was meant to spend the rest of my life with. You wanna know if I’m sure?

Sleepless in Seattle:

Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks in Sleepless in Seattle

It was a million tiny little things that, when you added them all up, they meant we were suppose to be together … and I knew it. I knew it the very first time I touched her. It was like coming home … only to no home I'd ever known … I was just taking her hand to help her out of a car and I knew. It was like … magic.

Fools Rush In:

Matthew Perry and Salma Hayek
Love is a gift … not an obligation.

Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman

Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher

Clark: "Lois, I have loved you from the moment I saw you. I love your humor, your passion, the way you just dive right in, even when you shouldn't. Because you refuse to just watch the world. You demand that it be a better place, and, because of you, it is. And, today, I w...ant to give you as much of the world as I can. So, I give you my heart, my soul, our future."

Lois: "Clark, you're my best friend. Until I met you, I never had a best friend. And falling in love with you has been so easy, I don't know why I fought it so long. You have such gentle grace and such quiet strength and mostly such incredible kindness. I've never known anyone with as pure a heart, and, so, today, I give you my love, and my honor and our life together."
I grew up watching a lot of romantic shows and I'm a sucker for "cheesy" lines... it simply never fails to melt my heart.

Keep Christ in Christmas: THE LIGHT OF HOPE

"I’m participating in the KEEP CHRIST in CHRISTMAS Blog Link-Up 2013 sponsored by the  Catholic Bloggers Network ." Be sure to  visit as many links as possible , listed at the bottom of this post. Reflecting on the 1st candle of Advent, the "light of Hope", I was reminded of a story I read as a child.  Most of my contemporaries would probably remember "The Little Match Girl" written by Hans Christian Andersen: It was terribly cold and nearly dark on the last evening of the old year, and the snow was falling fast. In the cold and darkness, a poor little girl with bare head and naked feet, roamed through the streets. It is true she had on a pair of slippers when she left home, but they were not of much use. They were very large, so large, indeed, for they had belonged to her Mother and the poor little girl had lost them in running across the street to avoid two carriages that were rolling at a terrible rate. My Friends Tigger and Pooh and a Musical Too! - DVD Review

If your kids love music, then they will surely love this film.   What’s more, who can ever resist Winnie the Pooh, Tigger and the rest of their Hundred Acre Woods friends! My 3-year old toddler totally loves Playhouse Disney.   Some of his favorites are of course, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins, Handy Manny and My Friends Tigger and Pooh .   Unfortunately, when the channel was re-branded into Disney Junior, I was surprised to discover that the show, My Friends Tigger and Pooh, aired its series finale in February 2011, and will no longer be part of the new Disney Junior. It was then that I decided to get my son a DVD copy so that he can continue to enjoy this show even if it’s no longer airing on TV.   When I discovered this DVD film, I knew it was perfect for my son because of his love for music. And true enough, it was an instant hit!   My Friends Tigger and Pooh and a Musical Too is a 60-minute full-length film based on the Playhouse Disney series, My Fr
