Teaching our Children to be Independent

As a mom (and a hands-on one at that!), I am sometimes scared of the thought that one day my 4-year old son will grow up to be on his own. Getting used to the idea of being needed and depended upon by my child is a wonderful feeling for me especially as I guide him through the different stages of his life.

But I also recognize the importance of raising my child to be independent.
