Faith Through a Child’s Eyes

Upon seeing a shrine of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, my four-year-old son suddenly asked me:

“Mommy, why is Jesus so high up there? Is it because He is saving the world?”

I was speechless.

Yet I was also deeply moved by the simple and beautiful way a child could capture the very essence of salvation. In his innocent mind and heart, he saw Jesus not simply as a figure high up on a cross, but as our Savior.

How many of us still see Christ that way?

Sometimes, in trying to understand and explain our faith, we make things more complicated than they really are. Perhaps my son reminded me that faith can be as simple as believing in Jesus, trusting in His love, and knowing that He is always there to save us.

Whenever we speak about faith, may we never lose the purity, innocence, and wonder of a child's heart. There is something beautiful about a faith that asks questions, believes with trust, and sees God with such simplicity.

And when we struggle to find hope in the midst of a chaotic and uncertain world, perhaps we only need to look to Christ.

For He is our hope. He is our salvation. And He is the One who can truly save the world.
