Let’s face it!
We all desire to find our one true love.
Many times, we think that finding true love will guarantee us a fairy-tale ending. But perhaps that is only the beginning of a long and winding—and sometimes difficult—road towards happiness and fulfillment.
Falling in love is one of those moments in life that can suddenly make our world a more beautiful place to live in. Having someone to love and someone who loves us back gives our life a deeper meaning and essence, reason enough to believe that life is indeed worth living.
But before we begin this journey, there is that period of searching… of waiting… of hoping…
And this is sometimes the difficult reality we need to face in our desire to discover true love. The thing is, we often focus too much on reaching our ultimate destination—a life with the person we are meant to be with—that we tend to forget how to prepare ourselves and appreciate the actual journey of searching and waiting for our one true love.
It took me 24 years to find true love.
I would constantly give God a deadline, but He kept on telling me to wait.
Looking back, it was during that period of waiting that I learned to discover more about myself and about life. I found myself falling in love every day with God, with myself, and with the life I was living.
And then, true love finally came knocking at the door of my life.
The long wait was finally over, and it was definitely worth it.
I married my one true love.
One important thing I learned in finding true love is that we need to fill our lives with love, peace, and happiness. When these things become evident in the way we live our lives, perhaps true love will eventually find us.
So while waiting, go ahead…
Learn to Love Life!
Love Yourself
Prepare yourself for your one true love by learning to love yourself first. Get to know yourself better. Discover your inner strength and your passions. Pursue the things you dream of doing. Pamper yourself once in a while.
Guard your heart, enrich your mind, and purify your soul.
Love the Idea of Loving
Love is a gift from God—not just the person we fall in love with. The right person is only the vessel through which God's love can flow into our lives.
To love, and to be able to give love, is the real gift.
Love God
As cliché as it may sound, loving God with all your heart, soul, and mind brings blessings into your life.
Love God above all things, and somehow, the rest will fall into place.
Love to Love
Spread love to the people in your life—your family, friends, and even co-workers.
A simple act of kindness can make a big difference in someone else's life. Opening yourself to loving others teaches you to be more selfless. It also exposes you to different people, situations, and experiences that allow you to learn and grow as a person.
Love the Life You Live
Focus on your blessings rather than on the things that are not going well in your life.
Instead of feeling sad about not having someone special in your life, be thankful for your great job, wonderful family, good friends, and all the other blessings you may sometimes take for granted.
Learning to be fulfilled and happy as an individual will make it easier for you to build a fulfilled and happy relationship when the right person finally comes along.
Deciding to love life will help us appreciate the waiting even more.
The more we learn to love, the more beautiful life becomes and the better prepared we will be to share it with that one person we are meant to spend the rest of our lives with.
The longer we wait, perhaps the more we will cherish our one true love in the way he or she deserves.
And the more we hope, the greater the opportunity for God's plan to work not only in our lives, but also in the life of the person He may be preparing for us.
